Local Bikers Unite… WNCX Needs Your Support

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

In the news was the recent passing of Lance Cpl. David R. Baker, 22, of Painesville, Ohio, who died Oct. 20 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Visitation for Cpl. Baker will be Friday, October 30th at Monreal Funeral Home, located at 35400 Curtis David BakerBlvd. Rte 91 in East Lake, from 2PM to 8PM. Funeral services are planned for this Saturday, October 31st at 11AM, at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 508 Mentor Ave. in Painesville.

Further in the news, is the unfortunate word of a planned protest at the furneral by the radical group known as Westboro Baptist Church. So in lieu of this, the WNCX Morning Show is rallying the support of our countless motorcycle riders to take part in an Honor Escort Ride for Cpl. Baker, on Saturday morning from the funeral home to the Church. We ask all our listener riders to take part in this peaceful ride and escort in honor of Cpl. Baker. Details of the escort are below, lead by the Patriot Guard Riders and its District #3 Captain, Ralph Bago. Details are also at this link:

Honor Escort Staging:
Church Services Sat. 10/31/09

Staging will be at 9:00 am in the rear of Monreal Funeral Home (address above). This will be for Motorcycle’s only. Bikes will be leaving at 9:45 am so be on time as there are many units that will be involved in this. We will be traveling on I-90 and the weather is predicting showers so if you are uncomfortable with riding in the rain at high speed please go to the church and wait for our arrival so as to not impede the Escort. Those in other vehicles not joining the Escort go to the Church to set up the Flag Line.

A WNCX thank you to our Veterans!

Tuesday, November 11th, 2008

vetsday08-lo2.jpg

The WNCX Morning Show would like to wish all Veterans a wonderful Veterans Day — and to thank you!

The crew caught up with Lauance Baschkin, who is the Executive Director of DVDs4Vets.org. Founded in 2006, the non-profit groups mission is to provide veterans who for any reasons cannot obtain DVDs on their own. It was a very interesting interview — with a unique way to help those who served us. Check out their website for more information on how to donate DVD’s, or if you are a vet and would like to receive DVD’s.

Western Reserve Paranormal is talking ghosts!

Friday, October 31st, 2008

western_reserve_paranormal2.jpg

The WNCX Morning Show welcomed Western Reserve Paranormal to the studio this morning for our Halloween morning broadcast. Evie, Natasha and Bill stopped in talk all about ghosts, paranormal activities and all that their group does.

A perfect topic for this Halloween, the group talked about personal experiences, well known events and fielded calls from listeners calling in with their own stories from beyond… including describing the ghosts that were in the radio studios at the current time. wrp_header.jpg

Putting the room at ease, Evie cleared the studio of two ghosts that had made their way in to the studios. “Ed” and “George” had been wandering the Halle Building for some time, so Evie helped them cross over to the other side. It was a creepy morning, to say the least.
