“The Great Eight” - Olympic Gold Medalist, Scott Hamilton in-studio

The WNCX Morning Show were joined by one of the most recognized male figure skating stars in the world, Scott Hamilton. They Olympic Gold medalist and cancer & brain tumor survivor is in Cleveland for the 2009 U.S. Figure Skating Championship, happening at Quicken Loans Arena all week long.

Scott stopped by the WNCX studios to talk about the competition and his new book, “The Great Eight: How To Be Happy (Even When You Have Every Reason to be Miserable).” In his book, Scott gives us never-before-told, behind-the-scenes stories from the skating world plus insight into his struggles with cancer and a brain tumor; he reveals his eight fundamental secrets to finding the silver (and gold) lining no matter what life throws at you.

Scott also talked about his Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative, which is partnered with the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Center… plus spending lots of time in, and his love for the city.

The WNCX Morning Show were joined this morning by pop culture historian, Dave Thompson, who called in to talk about his latest book - “I Hate New Music: The Classic Rock Manifesto”.

Dave is a longtime rock biographer, who has written many books about rock and roll for decades, as well as been published in Rolling Stone and Mojo, among others. His latest effort is a rather straightforward look at new music today — and comparing it to the tried and true Classic Rock of yesterday. Dave had many opinions for the morning show - and had no problem giving them to us!

Complete with the cooking up of some tasty Raven burgers to get the group pumped up for this Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens. Peter talked about the party that happens before every home Browns game.

So who is haunting the White house?

Jeff called in to talk about his new book, “Who’s Haunting the White House? The President’s Mansion and the Ghosts Who Live There”.
